“The Belize Scout Foundation Donates a Lawn Mower to the Scout Association”

On January 10, 2026, a significant event took place at a meeting of the Scout Association, where the Belize Scout Foundation generously donated a new lawnmower. This gift aims to enhance the maintenance and upkeep of Camp Oakley, the association’s dedicated camping and training grounds located near Burrell Boom, which serves as a vital resource for the Scouts.

During the meeting, Directors Dr. Erasmo Franklin and Mr. Del Martin proudly presented the lawnmower to the association, highlighting the importance of proper equipment in maintaining the camp’s facilities. Dr. Franklin emphasized that the donation symbolizes the Foundation’s commitment to supporting the youth and promoting outdoor activities that foster leadership, teamwork, and personal growth among Scouts.

The Belize Scout Foundation is dedicated to making a positive impact in the community and believes that a well-maintained camp is essential for providing safe and enriching experiences for Scouts and their families.

*Scouts Canada Team Celebrates Achievement for their participation at the 1st International Youth Chef Jamboree*

During their festive New Year’s vacation in the vibrant country of Belize, the Bouchard/Riverol family took a moment to visit Dr. Rene R. Villanueva, the esteemed Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation. In a warm and cheerful setting, Chairman Villanueva proudly presented them with their well-earned certificates of participation in the 1st International Youth Chef Jamboree (IYCJ).

As part of their contribution to this global culinary event, the Canadian team delivered a live cooking demonstration, broadcast to audiences around the world. This interactive experience allowed viewers to witness their culinary skills firsthand, and you can still catch the excitement by visiting the official International Youth Chef Jamboree Facebook page.

Among the honored participants were Beaver Scout Claire (Scout) Bouchard Riverol, along with her family members Guy Bouchard and Candice Riverol from the 1st Saint Lazare Beaver Timbertop Colony, Scouts Canada. They received their certificates in recognition of their involvement in the inaugural International Youth Chef Jamboree, which took place from October 31 to November 2, 2025, in the beautiful setting of Tlaxcala, Mexico. This unique event brought together young chefs from around the globe, fostering a spirit of creativity, collaboration, and cultural exchange through the art of cooking.

The theme for this 1st IYCJ, “Uniting Friendship through Cooking,” reflects the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange embodied in the event.
