5th Global Scout Kitchen Jamboree

5th Global Scout Kitchen Jamboree

The Global Scout Kitchen Jamboree is an annual event organized by Scout Voice 24+, the world’s largest digital Scout media group. The 2023 Jamboree was hosted by Pakistan.

Originally, Tlaxcala, Mexico, was scheduled to host this year’s event; however, due to unforeseen circumstances, they cannot do so. As an advisor to Scout Voice 24+, I have been tasked with organizing the opening ceremony in Belize via Zoom.

The event will take place on the following dates: the opening ceremony is set for December 21, 2024, and the closing ceremony will be held on December 22, 2024.

A small group of adult leaders from Belize, who are members of Scout Voice 24+, have come together to organize the opening ceremony through Zoom. This will include various speakers, cultural presentations, cooking demonstrations, and a closing campfire.

We have invited the Scout Association of Belize to encourage active Scout Groups to participate in this global event, which will start with the opening ceremony and continue with activities from Saturday to Sunday.

The chief organizer is Chef Kirk Lainfiesta, with Cook Claudia Groutsche assisting him. Mr. Alejandro Tovar is responsible for logistics and graphic design.

This event is open to everyone, young people and adults, and you do not need to be a Scout to participate.

Detailed information will be regularly updated on the Foundation’s Facebook page.

**Directors Meet for the Second Time This Year**

The Scout Foundation Directors, chaired by Dr. Rene R. Villanueva, held their second meeting on November 14, 2024.

A key item on the agenda was the treasurer’s monthly financial report, which indicated that the Foundation’s operations are on track and within budget for 2024. The directors also discussed financial support for Scouting in the coming year.

Mr. Fernando Oliva, President of the Scout Association of Belize, attended the meeting and reported on the progress of the Association’s development plan, which will be presented to the Foundation upon its completion. He also mentioned that the Regional Scout Office recently completed an evaluation of the Association and is awaiting the report.

The meeting was held at Dibary Restaurant in Belize City, hosted by the proprietor, Mr. Walther Campos.
