The Sir Colville N. Young Museum

The “Sir Colville N. Young Building” home of Scouting in Belize, which should be completed later this month will host the Sir Colville N. Young Museum that will be managed by the Belize Scout Foundation (BSF).

 

In preparation to organizing the exhibition of memorabilia, on February 13, 2021 Governor-General Sir Colville N. Young handed over a total of forty-eight items that will be displayed in the museum.

Receiving and signing for the memorabilia from Sir Colville was Dr. Rene Villanueva, Chairman of the BSF.

The BSF has already identified a curator for the museum who will manage the exhibits and collections on display.

The BSF is thankful to Governor-General Sir Colville N. Young for the opportunity to organize and manage the museum. ⚜

Corner Stone of the Sir Colville N. Young Building

Ground breaking ceremony for the “Sir Colville N. Young Building” home of Scouting in Belize was held on February 25, 2019 at which time the corner stone for the building was unveiled.

Today February 13, 2021 two years later the corner stone was placed on the building and present to witness the momentous occasion was His Excellency Sir Colville N. Young. It was a short but historic and touching moment to see the corner stone being placed.  According to Francis Woods, Chairman of the building sub-committee of the Belize Scout Foundation, the completion of the building is scheduled for the end of this month February 28, 2021.

Chairman Dr. Rene Villanueva and directors from the Belize Scout Foundation were present along with a representative from The Scout Association of Belize.
