We have organized an international webinar series to provide a general knowledge of jamborees for everyone. Use this opportunity & learn something important.

Lecture No.05  –  The Importance of cultural activities in a Jamboree

Date – 12.02.2022   Time – 06.30pm Sri Lanka time.
Invited speaker – Mr.Jacob Murray

Director, World Events World Scout Bureau
Duration of the lecture l- 45 minutes.

Who can join?  – Scouts/adult leaders/parents/non scouts
Dress – Any suitable dress
Things you need – A book with a pen.
How – on Zoom

The certificate – To earn a certificate you should participate at least 20 lecturers out of 25 sub lecturers.
If you are below 12 years old join with an adult.

02 Parents who need to prepare their kids for a future jamboree
03 Non scouts to get an interest to be a scout/visit a jamboree as a guest

First Directors Meeting for 2022

Directors Meeting 1 of 2022

The 1st meeting of the Directors of the Belize Scout Foundation was held on January 29, 2022. The meeting took place at the Sir Colville N. Young Building on Albert Street.

 

Chairman Villanueva called the meeting to order and welcomed all. The matters arising from the minutes were addressed as the minutes were read and approved as circulated.

The financial report for the period ending December 31, 2021 was presented by the Treasurer Mr. Jose Garcia and approved as presented. The proposed budget for 2022 was also looked at and was also approved as presented.

Mr. Francis Woods, Chairman of the Building Sub-Committee presented a detailed report on the building from the start of construction to its completion, including the financial report of income and expenditure. The financial report showed that the building was constructed at a cost of one million dollars raised by the Foundation through donations and grants.

Representatives from The Scout Association Mr. Fernando Oliva, President of The Scout Association – Ex-Officious member of the Foundation and Mr. Ashton Nicholas, Operations/Institutional Development Director attended the meeting and updated those present on plans the Association has to move forward in meeting its goals.

One of the major accomplishments of the meeting was the commitment made by The Scout Association President Fernando Oliva to officially sign an amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Belize Scout Foundation and The Scout Association of Belize on February 22, 2022 at which time the keys to the Sir Colville N. Young building (home of Scouting in Belize) will be handed over to the Association, marking the official gifting of the building to the Scouts of Belize.
