The Chairman of the Finance Committee of The Belize Scout Foundation Mr. Julian Castillo met with the Chairman of the Building Committee Mr. Francis Woods to receive updates on the finances for the Sir Colville N. Young Building and the progress of the construction of the building respectively.

According to Mr. Woods, construction is on scheduled with 80% of the foundation completed to date. It is expected that by June 3, 2020, the foundation including the ramp will be completed.

Mr. Woods also reported that he is very pleased with the construction so far and was pleased to report that the concrete testing has proven to be of very good quality and using laborers from the community is in keeping with the construction plan of providing work for unemployed community members.

Mr. Jose Garcia, the assistant treasurer reported that financially we are on a budget with the spending and that we have enough immediate funds to complete the Foundation but there is a need to further solicit funds so that construction can continue efficiently without stopping. It was mentioned that we are currently awaiting some replies on funding that were sent our earlier in the year.

It was agreed that an appeal for concrete blocks be launched including for doors and windows that will be needed to complete the building.
