Dr. Rene Villanueva’s first term as Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation

On May 27, 2017 Dr. Rene Villanueva was approached by then Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation (BSF), Julian Castillo and then Executive Director for The Scout Association of Belize Hilberto B. Riverol to consider taking over the chairmanship of the BSF.
Dr. Villanueva accepted the challenge without hesitation and on November 25, 2017 he was officially welcomed as the new Chairman of the BSF.
On November 25, 2020, which is next month, Dr. Villanueva will have served his three-year term and is eligible for re-election for another term of three years.
With the construction of the “Sir Colville N. Young Building” underway, it is likely that Dr. Villanueva will want to serve another term to see the completion of the building.
We congratulate Dr. Villanueva for his commitment in serving the young people of Belize through the BSF and hope that he agrees to serve for another term as Chairman of the BSF.
