The late Dame Minita Gordon was also the Patron of Scouts during her term as Governor-General of Belize.

A few moments ago, President-Elect- Fernando Oliva paid his respects to the late Dr. Dame Minita Gordon GCMG GCVO JP at the Government House, House of Culture where she is lying in state.

The Scout Association of Belize takes this time to send our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and the entire nation of Belize on the passing of Dr. Dame Minita Gordon GCMG GCVO JP, first Governor-General of Belize.

Meeting of BSF Directors 1/2021

January 16, 2021 brought together Directors of the Belize Scout Foundation (BSF) for their first meeting for 2021.  As the meeting got underway, Chairman of the BSF Dr. Rene Villanueva welcomed the President-Elect, Fernando Oliva and Chief Scout, Major Eric Neal of The Scout Association to the meeting.

The minutes of past meetings were read and approved.  Matters arising from the minutes and new matters on the agenda were dealt with expeditiously followed by a tour of the Sir Colville N. Young building under construction.

The Board of Directors of the Belize Scout Foundation has three ex-officio members from The Scout Association of Belize – the President, Chief Scout and National Scout Executive.

The Mission of the BSF is: To raise, invest and administer funds to create the means to support Scout programs that will prepare young people to make sound principled life decisions as they develop into responsible adults.
