Meeting with BSF Chairman Dr. Rene Villanueva

On September 8, 2021, Francis Woods, Chairman of the Building Sub-Committee, invited guests, Del Martin and Diana Ireland, and Hilberto B. Riverol, Executive Director met with Chairman of the BSF Dr. Rene Villanueva to review the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Belize Scout Foundation and the Scout Association of Belize for the Sir Colville N. Young building.

This was in preparation for a joint meeting scheduled for September 18, 2021, of the BSF and SAB to once again present and review the MOU with the SAB.

Dots Per Inch Ltd. awarded the contract for the Sir Colville N. Young Museum

On Friday, September 3, 2021, Executive Director for the BSF Hilberto B. Riverol met with Mr. Wayne McNab, Director, from Visual Strategies, and Ms. Ilona Smiling, museum curator at the Sir Colville N. Young Museum room for a site visit.

Joining after was Chairman of the BSF Dr. Villanueva and after some discussions about the design of the museum, Mr. Riverol informed Mr. McNab that the Board of Directors of the BSF have agreed to award the contract for the supply of the museum display cabinets and printing of museum poster displays to Dots Per Inch Ltd., a subsidiary of Visual Strategies.  The award is for a total of $28,356.84.

Following a letter of confirmation to the BSF, Mr. McNab outlined the timeline for the project as follows:

• September – Receive deposit of 50% confirming the order and commence manufacturing
• October – Receive artwork from Curator and continue manufacturing
• November – Installation

The BSF is committed to accountability and transparency and in meeting its goals 2021.
