Corner Stone of the Sir Colville N. Young Building

Ground breaking ceremony for the “Sir Colville N. Young Building” home of Scouting in Belize was held on February 25, 2019 at which time the corner stone for the building was unveiled.

Today February 13, 2021 two years later the corner stone was placed on the building and present to witness the momentous occasion was His Excellency Sir Colville N. Young. It was a short but historic and touching moment to see the corner stone being placed.  According to Francis Woods, Chairman of the building sub-committee of the Belize Scout Foundation, the completion of the building is scheduled for the end of this month February 28, 2021.

Chairman Dr. Rene Villanueva and directors from the Belize Scout Foundation were present along with a representative from The Scout Association of Belize.

Sir Colville N. Museum

On February 13, 2021 Governor-General, Sir Colville N. Young toured the building under construction that will serve as the National Scout Office and Scout Shop for The Scout Association of Belize and also the Sir Colville N. Museum that will be administered by the Belize Scout Foundation.

The tour was in connection with meeting #1/2021 of the Directors of the Belize Scout Foundation.

Sir Colville is pleased with the progress of the building that will carry his name “Sir Colville N. Young Building” Home of Scouting in Belize.

The building is scheduled for completion by the end of February 2021.
