In 1998 from July 20 – 26 the Scouts of Belize held their Join in Jamboree at Camp Oakley, the national training and camping grounds of The Scout Association of Belize. The camp had the participation of 150 members and had the support of 35 adult volunteers. Scout Foundation Directors Meeting 2/2023

May 13, 2023, was set aside by the directors of the Belize Scout Foundation to hold their second meeting for 2023.  The meeting was held at CISCO’s Construction conference room on the George Price Highway.

After the minutes of the meeting held on February 2, 2023, were read and approved as corrected, matters arising from the minutes were dealt with followed by a number of reports. The highlight of the meeting was the financial report from the treasurer who reported that during the first quarter period ending March 31, 2023, the following grants were approved and disbursed:

  1.  January 13, 2023 – $600.00 to the Scout Association for utility expenses
  2.  February 15, 2023 – $600.00 to the Scout Association for utility expenses
  3.  March 30, 2023 – $2,145.00 to Reese Medina DL JAMCAM registration fees
  4.  March 30, 2023 – $1,500.00 to Reese Medina MOP Ambassador for Messengers of Peace Flag

For the second quarter April to June the following grants have been approved and disbursed:

  1.  April 5, 2023 – $1,800.00 to the Scout Association for utility expenses
  2.  April 7, 2023 – $500.00 to 12th Corozal Mary Hill Scout Group for group tents
  3.  April 7, 2023 – $200.00 to 12th Corozal Mary Hill Scout Group for a guitar and guitar case
  4.  May 12, 2023 – $1,700.00 to Aidian Flowers WSJ delegation leader for rain jackets for participants

The treasurer closed his report by saying that a total of $8,845.00 has so far gone to supporting the Scout Association and Scout Groups and that there are still some funds available for 2023.  The grant period closes on June 30, 2023.
