“The Scout Association receives a grant of $2,250.00 from the Belize Scout Foundation.”
The Scout Association has received a grant of $2,250.00 from the Belize Scout Foundation to help cover its membership fees to the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). The check was presented to Mr. Wilfredo Majano, the acting President and Chief Scout of the Association, with Mr. Ricardo Alcoser, Acting National Scout Executive, witnessing the presentation.
The Scout Association is obligated to pay an annual membership fee to WOSM. Fees collected from National Scout Organizations fund the operations of the World Scout Bureau, provide regional support, and help implement global educational initiatives. These fees also support capacity building, training, and event organization for over 57 million Scouts, while promoting global safety and educational programs.
During the presentation, Mr. Del Martin, Director of the Foundation, and Mr. Hilberto B. Riverol, Executive Director of the Foundation, expressed their full support for providing these much-needed funds. Martin emphasized his hope for a closer working relationship and expressed his desire to see more young people join the Scouts, stating, “Grow Scouts!”
Majano, on behalf of the Association, conveyed sincere thanks for the generous support and presented the World Scouting Medal to Del Martin, recognizing dedication, collaboration, and unwavering support.
