6th Corozal Methodist Scouts Receives a Donation of Garifuna Drums

The 6th Corozal Methodist Scout Group is well-known for its talented musical ensemble of guitarists, established in 2022.

In 2023, the group received its first guitar from the Belize Scout Foundation, which enhanced its existing collection. Over time, the group has delivered impressive performances at various events and meetings.

Today, the Foundation added to the group’s instruments by donating two Garifuna drums: a primera and a segundo. The donation presentation was made by Executive Director Hilberto B. Riverol during a Scout meeting held at the Methodist School grounds.

Group Scout Leader Gwendolyn Monima thanked the Foundation and promised to utilize the drums effectively. She also mentioned that these drums will enhance the group’s music program and create opportunities for other musically inclined Scouts.

Leaders from the different Scout sections, including Mrs. Maria Wade, Mrs. Lorna Andrews, Mr. Philip Eric Jones, the guitar instructor, and the group’s sponsor, Rev. Charles Mulemena were present at the meeting.
