Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation officially launches the Christmas Kettle campaign.

November 8, 2024, Dr. Rene R. Villanueva, the Chairman of the Belize Scout Foundation, served as the special guest for the launch of the Christmas Kettle appeal organized by the Salvation Army in the Belize District. In his speech, Dr. Villanueva emphasized the importance of supporting the Kettle appeal, encouraging contributions of any amount, from two cents to whatever amount one’s heart chooses to give. He urged everyone to give with love, knowing that their generosity would provide a helping hand to those in need.

The program featured several presentations, including music by the Salvation Army and the Imperial Band, song performances, a presentation by the Salvation Primary School, and a retelling of the Christmas story.

The Christmas Kettle originated in the United States in the late 19th century by Captain Joseph McFee as a response to those facing hardship during the festive season.

Today, the Christmas Kettle campaign remains a symbol of hope, with compassion and generosity at the heart of this treasured tradition.
