Cynthia Henkis and her involvement in Scouting
Mrs. Cynthia Henkis was appointed Assistant Cub Scout Leader for the 4th Belize Wesley Cub Scout Pack on April 23, 1989.

Since then, until her retirement in 2017, she was able to maintain the interest of the hundreds of Cub Scouts who passed through the Cub Scout Program. She also maintained her interest in working with young people through the Cub Scout program by keeping herself updated by participating in the training courses offered by the Scout Association.

She participated in the following training course:
• Initial Scout Training on April 15, 1989
• Basic I Course (Cubs) on April 22, 1989
• Basic II Course (Cubs) in April of 1991
• Advanced Wood Badge (Cubs) December 2002
During her involvement with the 4th Belize Wesley Cub Pack, she received the following awards and appointments:
• On April 23, 1995, the “Chief Scout Commendation for Good Service”
• On April 25, 1999 “The Medal of Merit” for Outstanding Service to the Scout Movement
• On September 7, 2002, she was named the “Most Outstanding Cub Scout Leader” for the year 2001
• On October 1, 2002, she was appointed as Assistant National Cub Scout Commissioner
• On May 29, 2004, the “Chief Scout Personal Award for Dedicated Service to Scouting
• On November 21, 2004, she received her Wood Badge Award
• On May 14, 2005, she was awarded the Long Service Decoration for service of fifteen years to the Scout Movement
• On June 16, 2007, she was awarded the Bar to the Medal of Merit for her commitment and invaluable contribution to the Scout Movement in Belize
During her 28 years of service to Scouting, Mrs. Henkis participated and represented Belize in numerous regional events including Cub Scout Encounters in El Salvador, Panama, and Guatemala.
