Did you know that the Commonwealth Youth Forum was held in the UK from April 26 – 30, 2012?
The theme for the Forum was “Developing Scout Partnerships in the Commonwealth”.
The Forum had as its objective to engage young people from the Commonwealth countries in discussion on how Scout organizations can work together to develop their programs and enhance international experience for young people in the Commonwealth.
The Forum included a number of plenary sessions, presentations, and discussion groups looking at such topics as Connecting Cultures, Scouting in your Community, International Scouting Programmes, and What we can do to help each other, and how we can facilitate local exchanges.
Venture Scout Fernando Oliva represented Belize at this Forum who over the years demonstrated a high level of leadership qualities earning the Queen’s Scout Award (the highest award in the Venture program) on March 25, 2011
Fernando is the current President of The Scout Association of Belize.
