Chairman’s Building Visit
On January 21, 2022, Chairman Dr. Rene Villanueva made a visit to the Sir Colville N. Young building to view the final touches of the work being done before the building is gifted to the Scout Association.
Although the building was completed in 2021, some work continues making adjustments to door locks reinstalling windows, water sealing the Bliss Terrace and repainting some parts of the building.
Accompanying the chairman was Executive Director Hilberto B. Riverol who took the opportunity to present a draft copy of the final building report which includes start date of construction to end date of completion and including the financial statement of income and expenditure which shows that the building total cost is a little over one million dollars.
Chairman Villanueva hopes to hand over the building to the Scout Association in the month of February after the Memorandum of Understanding is signed between the Belize Scout Foundation and The Scout Association of Belize.
The Foundation will have its first meeting for 2022 on January 29, 2022 at which time a date should be set for the gifting of the building to the Scouts.
