Presentation of International Youth Chef Jamboree Certificates to Members of the 6th Corozal Methodist Scout Group, 27th Cayo Santa Elena Jaguars Scout Group, and 11th Corozal Mary Hill Dolphins Scout Group
On November 29 and December 6, 2025, members of the International Youth Chef Jamboree (IYCJ) Steering Committee from Belize visited the towns of Corozal and Santa Elena to honor the Scouts for their participation in the Jamboree held in Tlaxcala, Mexico, from October 31 to November 2, 2025.
All three teams successfully participated in a live cooking demonstration that was broadcast internationally.
Hilberto B. Riverol, the Chairman of the International Steering Committee for the IYCJ, presented certificates to the participants, commending them for their engagement. He also announced that China has been selected as the host country for the 2nd IYCJ scheduled for 2026, and expressed hope that the Scouts will continue to participate in this annual event.
This year’s theme, “Uniting Friendship through Cooking,” reflects the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange embodied in the event. The Belize Steering Committee includes Hilberto B. Riverol, Kirk Lainfiesta, and Alejandro Tovar, alongside an international team representing numerous countries worldwide.
