Foundation Directors End-of-Year Meeting

Foundation Directors End-of-Year Meeting

On December 12, 2024, the Foundation held its end-of-year meeting in the conference room of Dibary restaurant.

Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Investment Subcommittee, Roberto Harrison, presented his end-of-year report, highlighting the Foundation’s performance over the current year. The report included financial statements for the eleven months from January to November, details of grant funds awarded to active Scout Groups including the Scout Association, and information on current debenture investments with Belize Electricity Ltd. and Belize Water Services Ltd. Harrison also announced plans to open the Sir Colville N. Young Museum early in the new year, which will coincide with the launch of the Sir Colville N. Young Fellow program. Both initiatives are intended to increase the Foundation’s capital fund for larger investments and enhance support for the Scout program. After a thorough examination by the directors, the proposed budget for 2025 presented by Harrison was moved for adoption.

Hilberto B. Riverol, Executive Director, presented the Biennium Reports for 2020 and 2021, along with the corresponding audited financial statements for approval. There were no objections, and the reports were accepted as presented. Riverol also noted that the audits for 2022 and 2023, which were previously reported as completed in November and approved by the Directors, will be included in the activities report for the corresponding years and presented for approval early in 2025.

In closing the meeting, Dr. Villanueva expressed gratitude to the directors for their support financially and as active participants. He also extended heartfelt appreciation to all the donors and financial members who have consistently supported the Foundation over the years. Dr. Villanueva wishes everyone a blessed and happy Christmas, success, and good health in the New Year, 2025.
